Welcome to my blog! I've always wanted to start a blog, and I feel like all of my friends have started blogs at some point in their teen lives, but here's me attempting to document my crazy life in a single post. Wish me luck!
So, a couple major things have just happened in my life in the past month, and I feel like it's necessary to discuss them. First of all, I just graduated last week! I have honestly been anticipating graduation since Senior Girl's Breakfast the first day of Senior year. I'm not gonna lie, I had a serious, serious case of senioritis. So, once graduation came, I kinda just wanted to get it over with. May of Senior Year is one of the most stressful times of a high school student's life. There are so many events, and honestly some of them just seem unnecessary. But at the same time, all of the adults are telling you to enjoy it, so I guess it's all important? Maybe... Another super exciting thing that recently happened is College Freshman Orientation! Next fall, I will be attending Texas A&M University-College Station (my dream school!). So last week, a day before graduation (ahh!) I had my NSC, or New Student Conference. Let me just say, if I wasn't already in love with this amazing school, I sure am now! College Station is such an amazing place- everyone is so kind and genuine, and there's a charming hometown feel everywhere you go. I've been an Aggie my whole life, my mom attended A&M, so I didn't really have a choice, so i've always known where I wanted to go for college. Anyway, at my NSC, I attended a ton of meetings, and had so much crucial information thrown at me, so it was a little overwhelming, but so, so exciting! Also, I made some friends. In college station, everyone is so outgoing and welcoming, so meeting new people is a piece of cake. Lastly, I got my fall semester schedule, and I'm so happy with the classes I got. One class I'm really looking forward to is Astronomy. I've always been interested in astronomy, I remember when I was younger, I used to research astronomy, and watch videos upon videos on Youtube about blackholes, galaxies, and the scale of the universe- which is honestly mind-boggling and hard to mentally grasp. I'm getting off topic. I am so excited for College Station, as you can probably tell, so keep on the lookout for updates as I transition into this new chapter of my life! Now, I want to talk about my recent obsessions. Since graduation, I've had so much time to myself, which I'm not used to since Senior Year is so fast-paced. So, I've been using all of my free time to focus on myself and my hobbies. During high school, I felt like I was so pressured to only focus on school, being social and spending a ton of time with my friends, and staying active. Yes, I know, these are all super important things, but now I finally have a small break to really grow as a person and explore my hobbies. So, some of my recent obsessions include: Podcasts, blogging (ahh!), and writing. First of all, Podcasts? They're so addicting. Im probably like 5 years behind on the whole podcast craze, but listening to them is the most relaxing thing ever. Im actually listening to one right now! I highly recommend listening to some, especially if you're stressed out or have a lot going on. Oh, and there are some that are super motivational too! I'll make sure to include some of my favorites at the bottom. I hope you enjoyed my first blog post! I'm still trying to figure this whole blog thing out, so check back next week for my next update. I'll be talking about embarking on my most daring adventure yet! -Amanda- https://amandamaiselphotography.weebly.com Some of my recent podcast favorites- Eliza Starting at 16 When Meghan Met Harry
